About the Event

About This Training: This training offers 15 hours of in person Zoom training sessions and 5 hours of self study for anyone with an interest in understanding the impacts of trauma on the whole system while learning to integrate a trauma informed lens into their scope of practice.

Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) is a program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute (JRI). It is an empirically validated, evidence-based, adjunctive treatment for complex trauma and complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

This training is built from the frameworks of intersectionality and systems that oppress. The training will provide tools and an understanding of trauma theory, attachment theory, and the neuroscience of trauma, which are the core underpinnings of TCTSY. Throughout the training, participants will add an understanding of how to facilitate trauma-informed movement and breath practices. This is a foundational training that aims to take a wide stroke approach to understanding trauma. The hope is that this new perspective provides participants with the groundwork needed to not recreate trauma or trauma dynamics within themselves, relationships, and community. Participants are invited to explore the various ways in which this embodied movement practice, rooted in a trauma informed framework, can be a starting point towards anti-oppressive practices in their own bodies first and then into their spheres of influence.

Training Schedule: Please note that the times of the training are all in mountain standard time (MST).

Friday April 30th - 4:00pm - 7:00pm
