About TCTSY

Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) was developed at the Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts. It is a body-based intervention formed by the underpinnings of trauma theory, attachment theory, and neuroscience. It is an empirically validated, adjunctive treatment for complex trauma or PTSD. The impacts that happen to the mind and body during and in the aftermath of trauma can be significant but TCTSY has been shown to lessen these affects. TCTSY is a scientifically studied and evidence based approach to healing. This embodiment practice works by interrupting the felt experiences of trauma through breath and movement. It is a modality that helps to move people out of both personal and/or community trauma and towards healing.
